When choosing a building contractor for any major project such as one of our loft conversions, you need to be sure of a few key questions:

Our work is carried out under contract. We use an industry approved Joint Contract tribunal (JCT) Contract for Homeowner. A sample can be sent to you upon request. This contract states all terms (including finishing dates) and describes your free 6 year guarantee.

Building Guarantee Scheme - Federation of Master Builders

When you contract with us, you have the reassurance that we are member of the Federation of Master Builders, the largest Trade Federation for builders in the UK. To become members we have to pass the following criteria as set out by the FMB:

Only those builders and specialists who can prove their skills and good business standing are accepted as members. Membership criteria and checks include:

A minimum of 12 months trading, or is otherwise able to demonstrate experience enough to warrant membership

6 references including one from a 'professional' or Local Authority Building Control

Local FMB Branch approval

Public and employer liability insurance

No un-discharged bankruptcies or relevant outstanding County Court Judgments against company or directors

VAT registration (where appropriate)

Confirmation of business address / details

Credit checks, public record and director checks

All FMB members must meet the above. FMB MasterBond members have extra membership criteria.
